Neck Pain
Neck pain is one of the most common conditions we see in clinic, that affects nearly everyone at some stage in their life. Neck pain can vary in severity and severely impact someone from completing simple daily tasks. This condition can be caused by poor posture, trauma or injury, degeneration or a whiplash like injury.
Low back pain.
Another one of our most common conditions, lower back pain is characterised by pain around the hips, pelvis and lower back region and its surrounding muscles and tissues. If left untreated, lower back pain can become progressively worse also affecting activities of daily living. Common causes of lower back pain are, poor lifting techniques, weak core muscles, prolonged sitting, lumbar disc bulges or sacroiliac dysfunction.
Headaches.
Headaches are experienced by most during some stage in their life. Diagnosing headaches involves investigating the root cause of the problem. Headaches among a lot of other conditions can vary in severity, and sometimes cause a person to be unable to function. Common causes of headaches can be, poor posture, muscular tension, lack of sleep, poor diet, lack of water intake or increased stress levels.
Sciatica.
Sciatic pain is normally most present in those who experience lower back pain. This condition is caused by irritation of the nerves that run out through the lower back. When one of these nerves becomes irritated, it can cause shooting, burning, numbness or tingling like pain down the leg. The severity of a person symptoms can depend on the amount of nerve irritation that occurs in each individual. Causes of sciatic pain can be, nerve impingement, disc bulges/herniation or trauma and overuse.
Shoulder pain.
Shoulder pain may be experienced in the joint capsule, ligaments or muscles surrounding the shoulder joint. Shoulder pain can be caused by a wide variety of reasons these include trauma, injury, repetitive movement, continuous heavy lifting.
Posture.
Postural change is something that can develop over the life spine. This can be seen as uneven or rounded shoulders, anterior head posture or feeling like one leg is longer than the other. Postural change can be caused by a wide variety of factors, prolonged sitting posture, poor sleeping habits, desk set up.
Disc Injuries.
Disc injuries can be known as herniated discs, disc bulges or even slipped discs. The are normally a result of too much pressure through certain joints in your spine and are usually quite painful. Most commonly seeing in the lower back. The most common symptoms of disc injuries will be, radiating pain, numbness, tingling or burning pain. The most common causes of disc injuries are trauma or injury, repetitive lifting or incorrect lifting.
TMJ and Jaw Pain.
Tempromandibular Joint (TMJ) is the joint that enables us to open and close our mouth. Most people don’t know that Chiropractors are qualified to treat these kinds of dysfunction. As well as jaw pain, people may experience a clicking sensation in the jaw, a deviation of the jaw when opening, or even locking of the jaw when yawning or opening your mouth wider than usual. Common causes of TMJ or jaw pain include, clenching or grinding teeth, habits such as chewing gum, poor posture, trauma to the face or head, whiplash or opening your mouth too wide.
